Keurig K55/K-Classic Coffee Maker, K-Cup Pod, Single Serve, Programmable, Black
The Keurig K55 measures 13 inches tall inches wide and 10 inches deep.
The cord length is about 30 inches the water reservoir holds 48 ounces and is removable.
Just take the lid off and lift it straight up there’s a max fill line so don’t fill water above
that to attach the reservoir put the tabs on the reservoir right into the slots.
The lid fits right on top with this model you have a choice of brewing a 6 8 or 10 ounce cup
with the Keurig K55 select model.
The add water light will come on when you need to add water to the reservoir
the D scale button will illuminate when it’s time to descale the unit.
These scaling should be done every three to six months and there are instructions online
when the water is being heated the red heating light will be on there’s an auto off feature
when you press it the green light will come on the machine will turn off 2 hours
after the last brew.
If you don’t want this feature on just press the button and the green light will go off
with this model you can use k-cup pods or a my k-cup reusable coffee filter to use your own ground coffee.
The drip tray is removable and holds eight ounces of overflow with the drip tray removed
you can fit a mug about seven and a half inches tall with the drip tray in place.
The clearance is just over six inches and a QuickStart guide is included a filter handle
and two filters are included.
Filtered Water For Better Results
I use filtered water so don’t end up using these filters if you want to use a filter or soak
it for five minutes rinse the filter and put it in the handle.
The handle locks into place inside the reservoir the filter should be changed
every two months or sixty tank refills there’s a replacement date dial that you can set on the handle.
As with most Keurig’s when you first get the unit run a cycle with just water
take the lid off the reservoir and fill water.
Just up to the max line put the lid back on the machine is already plugged in press
the power button it’ll illuminate green the auto-off will be illuminated green
and the heating will be illuminated red when the waters finished heating.
Three Cup Buttons
The three cup buttons which are the brew buttons will light up blue place
a cup on the tray lift the handle you don’t want to put any pods in here.
Since we’re just brewing hot water lower the handle and the three cup buttons
will blink you can only brew when they’re blinking I’ll press the smallest cup and that’s it.
You only have to do this once now you’re ready to use the unit to brew coffee.
If you want hot water for a cup of tea and you’re using teabags or hot water for instant noodles or oatmeal.
This is how you would brew hot water just don’t put any k-cups inside the holder
I’ll discard the water now we can brew a cup of coffee put a cup on the tray.
I’m going to be using a green mountain breakfast blend lift up the handle
put the pot in and close the handle the cup buttons are blinking so it’s ready to brew.
I’m gonna choose the largest 10 ounce size that turns just about a minute to brew the 10 ounces.
The coffee is hot and tasty after the cycles finished lift the handle and remove
The needles puncture at the top and the bottom of the cake up there’s
one needle inside the holder and one needle up here.
If you’re using a non coffee pod like a hot coco after the cycle is finished
you want to run just a plain water cycle through to clean the needles.
To remove the pot holder hold the top with one hand and push from the bottom pops
right out the funnel comes off.
For cleaning and pops right back in line up the arrow the top
and just press down the power holder and follow our top rack dishwasher safe on the low temperature.
The drip tray can just be rinsed out the blue add water light will be on
when there’s not enough water in the reservoir
and you need to fill it if you are using a filter.
Make sure to remove it first before cleaning the reservoir.
The reservoir and lid cannot be put in the dishwasher it’s hand wash only
and don’t dry the inside with a cloth you don’t want any lint in the reservoir.
The Keurig K55 is very simple to use there’s nothing complicated 2/3 cup sizes 6 8 and 10
it’ll let you know when the water is heating when you need to descale or add water
and there’s a convenient auto off feature if you want to try out this Keurig K55.
